A few weeks back, I had the privilege of witnessing and taking part of a monumental event in the lifestyle and beauty industry. It was the first ever Beauty Ball in the Philippines hosted by SM to celebrate and honor pioneers and makeover masters in the local beauty scene for all their local and global accomplishments. It was held at the Makati Shangrila Hotel, and I had the pleasure of hosting both the main event and the red carpet correspondence portion as artists together with their muses entered the event all glammed up and ready for the beautiful evening ahead! A-list celebrities together with their high profile make-up artists filled the area as the night progressed. Taking center stage were the country’s “Pioneers of Beauty,” Jake Galvez, Jesi Mendez, Fanny Serrano, Jigs Mayuga, James Cooper, Cristine Duque, Denise Ochoa, Mickey See, and Robbie Piñera. Some of their muses were also present to support them, such as Vice Ganda, Andi Eigenmann, Anne Curtis, Jodi Sta. Maria, Denise Laurel, Chesca Garcia Kramer, and Jolina Magdangal.
Awesome event! But imagine the pressure on me!? Haha
It’s been a while since I had a full-on smokey make-up look and I was quite excited to be wearing one that night especially because of all the beautiful pigments and rich colors MAC houses.
So here’s the complete look!
Foundation: Studio Fix Fluid - NC 25, Prolongwear Concealer NW20, Prolongwear Pressed Light Plus
Contour: Studio Fix Powder NC 45, Harmony
Highlight: Soft and Gentle
Blush: Melba, Mineralize Blush Warm Soul
Eyebrows: Brunette Eyebrow Crayon, Charcoal Brown Eyeshadow, Beguile Brow Set
Eyes: Prolongwear Paintpot Soft Ochre, Eyeshadow x 15 Warm Palette, Blacktrack Fluidline, Stubborn Brown Powerpoint Eye Pencil
Lips: Prep+Prime Lip, Whirl Lip pencil, Yash Lipstick
Now for the ensemble! I didn’t exactly have enough time to pull-out a ball outfit from a designer or stylist, but one of my long-time and trusted clothing line sponsors, DETAILS, has so many beautiful ready-to-wear pieces that can go from smart casual to evening especially when you get creative in mixing and matching! Dress code that night was black and silver for me as a host. So how perfect was it that this gorgeous ball skirt was exactly black and silver? Paired it with a fitted off shoulder top. Good thing the texture of fabric can pass for evening wear and I must say, the total look worked that night!
Paired it with silver gem stone earrings from UNO DE 50, necklace from SILVERWORKS, heels from COMFIT, and my purse from DIOR.
Here are some more photos of the evening…
Cheers to all the pioneers and world class artists our country has produced, and thank you for making this world a more beautiful place to live in!
Until the next!
